Full Circle Farm

I wanted to share a really cool (why do I feel like a teenage girl saying this?) program that my good friends Mark and Katie told me about. It's a CSA Program (Community Supported Agriculture) where organic fruits and vegetables are delivered to a pick up location weekly (Jeff and I are doing it bi-weekly). This next week will be our third box pick up and we're looking forward to yummy things like jewel yams, hass avocados, thyme and many more varieties of fresh produce. Most items come from Full Circle Farm in Carnation, who actually runs the program, and other items are found on the west coast to cut down on shipping and thus MORE pollution.

I think once things settle down after the wedding I'll have more time to explore new recipe ideas with my fresh food. But for now I'm enjoying creating my own, like the ants on a log seen below. These were made with homemade peanut butter using our Blendtec, dried cranberries, and celery from the farm!

Oh, and one last great feature of this program...you can substitute out items you don't like or even banish them to the "never send me this..." list. It's a custom fit! (BTW, I don't work for this company. I just thought it could be fun to swap recipes with other Full Circle Farmers- since we'd have many of the same ingredients)

Happy Eating!

What a great idea! I wish we had a program like that here in Los Angeles.

The red ants on a log look delicious. Nice work.

Heather..you might have a program like this in LA. Just google CSA program and I'm sure you'll find something. I would encourage anyone to do it, it's fun, healthy, and good for the environment.

Katie...so glad to see you commenting! Hope to hang out on Thursday ;)

Yum...looks so good. People think I'm weird over here 'cross the pond for eating pb & celery together; love the red ant addition, know they'll think I'm a complete freakshow! We actually do have an organic fruit/ veg box program over here as well, so Heather I'm confident if it's in Birmingham, UK then LA has got to have something similar.
