Wesley James!

Saturday after a baby shower, we headed into the hospital as my contractions were getting worse. Come to find out, I was 6-7cm dilated!

We were going to have the baby soon....but the ultrasound revealed he was breech (I knew it!). 2 hours after checking in, the C-section was complete and Wesley James was born! 5 pounds 2 ounces.

Since he's 5 1/2 weeks early - he hasn't developed the drive to eat as much as he would if he were a couple of weeks further along. So a feeding tube was recently put in to supplement any nutrional needs he doesn't get during breast/bottle feeding. He's doing great though and we're hopeful he'll be out of the Special Care Nursery within a week or two.

On the operating table

Our baby boy with his little breech legs/hips...they've since calmed down a lot.

Our precious family- thank you Lord for a safe delivery of our son, I'm overcome with love for this sweet little boy, our little Wes.

Liquid gold- my first 50 ml pump!

Wesley's first bath- 11/19/08, today he also got his IV out, only mother's milk to nurture him from now on (until he starts solids, of course)

Oh how wonderful Jenny!! he's just beautiful and it brought ears to my eyes to see the picture of Jeff holding him, he's so tiny compared to his daddy :-) We send all our love to your beautiful family, what a true blessing a baby is to a family, and there's nothing like your first baby to bring the two of you closer :-) Please don't hesitate to get my phone number from Rebekah if you need breastfeeding help, it's my true passion and I'd just love to help in any way! Hugs, Angela

I have to stop reading our posts in class.

I usually want to laugh or cry, and that's not really appropriate while learning about federal taxation. :)

Love you guys!

Dan and I were both breech babies and I think it makes for an extra rich and special life. :) Wesley is going places.

Tiny Wesley: Welcome to the world. You have the best sort of people for parents: quirky, funny, kind, generous, artistic, and godly. Many of us have been looking forward to your arrival.

On a side note, apparently you have a flare for drama with all this breech and pre-me business. Try to go easy on your parents, alright?

Hi Jenny!

We sent an SMS to Jeff the day Wesley was born, but we don't know if you got it. So...congratulation again for the birth of this cutie baby. Ely thinks he really looks like Jeff!!!
We wish we were there to see and cuddle Wesley in person...but considering the big distance between us...we can only send you all a big big hug and we are very happy for you.

Love.

He's beautiful!! I wish that we could have been there to enjoy this with you...however being stuck here in stupid Hawaii makes it a bit difficult to get places. I'm glad that you had a healthy baby boy, and can't wait to meet him in person. I hope he brings as much joy as my boys bring me....and more. CONGRATS!!!

Wes is so amazing! I just want to hold that beautiful little guy! It was really exciting seeing the three of you together. I kept welling up with tears the entire time. (Dave would say "what a mommy" I've become..in a good way).
Love you guys!
Especially you Wes ;)

SO exciting!!! He's a cutie...so tiny! I'm sure with a little mothers milk in his belly he'll be growing quickly. We're so happy for you and Jeff. We'll start planning our trip to the northwest. Probably sometime in the new year.

Love you!

I miss you, friend! Tell Wes his buddy Isaiah misses him too! I was sad today realizing that each of us will be too busy/distracted in the next few weeks to take care of each other. If I could, I would come visit you everyday and bring you treats! I look forward to the day sometime soon when I can walk up to your house, lay Isaiah next to Wes, and chat/craft/snack/veg with you...and now I am crying! I will call you soon.

Love you,
katie

Oh Jenny, I love him already! SO small, just like Thad.
Love the "liquid gold"! I can't believe you got that much so soon! I was so frustrated during that time. I was so determined to give only breast milk if I could.
