4 Month Check Up

Yesterday was Wes' 4 month check up and I'm happy to report he's doing quite well. (Although I was hoping he'd be at least 13 lbs. AND we found out he's a bit on the shorter side- can you believe it?) I know I'm kind of being an overbearing/competitive type mom with those comments...but we all have a little bit of that in us, right?

The hardest part of the appointment was when he got his shots, he definitely got upset, but our little resilient boy bounced back and took a long nap (thank you baby tylenol)!

His Stats:

Height: 23.5 in. (10th %)
Weight: 12 lb. 10.5 oz. (10-25th %)- she said this would be 50th % if we adjusted for his prematurity!
Head: 41.5 cm

Everything is going well in the Gough household, but please be thinking of Jane as she's been battling flu-like symptoms on and off for a few days (luckily she doesn't appear to be contagious).

Hope everyone is having a good start to their week. Hasn't the weather been ridiculous? I'm hoping to take a walk this morning if the sun manages to stay out!

well he has officially past his cousin Simon's size at this point, not that I am competitive but it is true :)...I don't think you have to worry about him being short he's got time...

he IS adorable and those thighs are getting some chunck on em, I love it!

hope Jane feels better soon!

Yes, we all have a little bit of that in us. I always wanted my kids to be tall. Tyler is fast approaching that, he is now 5'11 and will reach 6 foot soon, Jacob will be 6'3" by the time he's in high school. Can you believe that? The youngest will be the tallest. The doctors are pretty accurate. Thanks to the Boldrin heighth. Don't worry, Wes has lots of time to grow, he will be tall, look at all the Gough boys!

yes, jenny, we all have that in us! I think part of it is that we can't really do much at this point to care for them (besides their basic needs) so it feels good when they get bigger-- like, look!, I'm helping him grow! Wes IS getting so much bigger-- already more than doubled his birth weight! He is so adorable-- I'm so glad I get to watch him grow up and change.

We can revisit this conversation when the boys are in high school and Isaiah is getting Wesley's hand me downs-- we'll probably still have to hem the pants!

Let's go for a walk! =)

If I went for a walk today, it would be in the SNOW; yes, we awoke to snow once again

getting the shots is so hard for everyone... i feel like the poor nurses dread it, too.

with evan, up until he was a year i nursed him while he got his shots, and this really helped... sometimes he acted like he didn't even notice. now that he is a toddler it is much more difficult... he is not as easily distracted.

i think you have been doing such an amazing job with wes, jenny. he is certainly a thriving, happy baby boy!

sending 'get well' wishes Jane's way! xoxo

I hated giving immunizations when I worked in pediatrics! I also dread the day little Will has to get poked.

Thanks for stopping by with dinner last night- it was yummy!

Wes is doing so great- signs of good mommying :0) I'm sure he'll have a growth spurt here pretty soon and you'll be wondering where the little baby went.
