Wesley :: 20 Months

Cautious adventurer and delightful entertainer...words we use to describe our boy.
I marvel at the affect Wes' 2o months of life have had in our world, what a sweet little rascal with tons of personality. It's almost hard to keep up with all of the changes he has been making recently...50+ words that he LOVES to use, "mama mama...airplane" "dadda dadda...moon," understanding the possessive, "dan's shoes" (alisha & dan are staying with us for the week), becoming very self-aware, saying his own name (which kind of sounds like fuffy), giving mama bites of his food and then saying, "thank you Wes"- what a big big boy!
Several weeks ago we were driving home late from a friend's house and Wesley spotted the moon and of course had to get our attention and point it out. Just then, it was hidden behind a hill and Wes very distinctly said, "mama where'd the moon go?" Jeff and I were in awe, when did our little baby become a boy?
Have I mentioned that for some absurd reason Wes loves Elmo? I think he was introduced to him at the church nursery and I guess it was love at first furry sight. He is so infatuated with him, in fact, that he sees him almost everywhere...he actually thinks any two circles next to each other are Elmo. Have you seen the Geico billboard with the stack of bills with eyes on top? Wes is pretty adamant that it's Elmo.
He loves his books and loves pointing out everything he sees, "kitty cat, doggy, nose, eyes..." He really enjoys books with pictures of real babies. And although he's a big baby fan he is not a fan of mommy holding babies which we quickly discovered with Isaiah's new little brother, Samuel.
There's so much more I could say about this precious little man, but I'll save that for another day. I've just been feeling so blessed to be Wesley's mom specifically...God knew exactly what he was doing when he placed him into our family. Someone once commented about Wesley and his multitude of facial expressions, they said he was filled with "exuberant joy" and boy were they right...but more than that he has filled us and those that know him with exuberant joy as well!

It baffles me to think he will be 2 years old in less than 4 months, man this season is too short.

I, too, can't believe he's going to be two in November. That's crazy! I remember the day he was born. He is quite an animated little man. I love his energy, his facial expressions, his dancing, and the way he's always looking for his cousin "Mia."
