33 Weeks- Where are my ankles going?

I am 33 weeks as of yesterday and am kind of shocked that there are just 7 weeks remaining! We're excited to welcome this little boy into our family- he's already in our hearts...now we can't wait to hold him in our arms!

Boy, what a difference 7 weeks make...

Then

Now

Also, you know you're getting close when expiration dates go BEYOND your due date...I used to look at these around my birthday or Christmas and get so excited when these dates were finally out there in the world- it's coming up quick! Am I the only one who gets excited about expiration dates?

Lastly, I've been indulging in a Christmas beverage...it made the baby kick, so I think he likes it too. Egg Nog Punch- by the glass! A brilliant little pick-me-up to get you into the Holiday spirit. Fill a pint glass half way with Sprite, 1 scoop Vanilla Bean ice cream, and then fill the remaining portion with Egg Nog (careful not to let the foam spill). This order is key for maximum liquid...if you poor the Sprite last you'll have way too much foam. Enjoy!

Oh, and this week marks the beginning on ankle swelling...by the end of the day I can't see them and my calf is as tight as can be. I guess this means I'll need to start taking it easy. Does anyone have any good swelling reducer tips?

this is what my mom said:
walk to get the circulation going...then put your feet up and have Jeff do all the work until the swelling disappears...it works wonders.

I bought eggnog this week too! I like it plain. Love Starbuck's Signature Carmel Salted Hot Chocolate - you got me hooked on that.
Your Grandma got toxemia with the twins - each toe swelled up, in addition to her ankles.
Rest, lying on your left side to take the weight of the baby off your major blood vessels.
Consume less salt.
Drink 8 glasses of water a day.

I had way less swelling with Annika when I moved around a lot during the day. But that might have been related to toxemia/pre-eclampsia I had with Saben. Good luck! I can't believe you only have 7 more weeks!

you look adorable Jenny! I totally remember getting excited when expiration dates passed my due date and I remember when my Martha Stewart Living came for the month I was expecting I knew it was close :)..sorry the only thing I can say about the cankles is they make a great party joke. Remember when I showed mine off at that blogger girl party and the whole room gasped, ha ha! Truthfully they totally suck and you should just put your feet up as much as possible! xo

Have you tried it with gingerale instead of sprite? That's what my family drinks every year & I'm with you- I love it!

oooh, gingerale! good call...I couldn't really remember if it was with sprite or not, so i just went for it. but i think gingerale has less sugar anyway and tastes great by itself.

i'm adding that to my list for the grocery store!

I have a cure for swollen ankles-- bedreest! I swear, only getting up to go to the bathroom does wonders for reducing swelling! Now that I'm up and about more, I'm definitely noticing some changes. The trade off is worth it, though! You look great in your pictures-- I'm so impressed by how you have extended you non-maternity clothes!

The drink sounds like the floats we always have minus the egg nog. Gotta try it that way! Sounds and looks good! I think the boys will love it. Thanks Jenny....

I can't believe December's right around the corner!

Feet up! I had swollen ankles during the summer when pregnant with the last! Thank goodness those things go down! Can you imagine?
