Adjusting

I'm delinquent in posting...but we ARE home! We were, indeed, discharged last Sunday and went directly to Jeff's parents house where we could enjoy heat and water while ours was getting finished up. Thank you Steve & Paula for being such incredible hosts- we're really missing the royal treatment and I rather miss my "command station"!

We've been in Ballard since Wednesday and it feels good to get settled into what will be "normal" everyday life- there's still a lot of adjusting to do but our little family is doing well.

Here are some photos from this past week- just so you can get caught up ;)

Our last day in the hospital...the neonatalogist was running late but let us bring Wes to our room- his first time out of the Special Care Nursery! He was ready to go home, Santa hat and all! What a good boy holding his binkie!

When we arrived at Steve & Paula's our family was there...a welcome home party!

The Drovdahl's came to visit...Isaiah and Wes were happy to be reunited again. (I don't think this looks like Wes)

Pepe & Grandpa

The outfit that Katie got him- so cute!

Our first walk- we made it all the way down to Paseo and split a pork bowl.

Wes has been working on his walking ;)

Thanks for the update- so good to see Wes and family doing well. You look like the perfect 'mum' with your pram and Katie going for a walk. So wish I could be there!

Yeah!

That boy looks like a Gough!

And your pram does look very London. All the Notting Hill set have them. They are a bit big for public transport, but I imagine it's perfect for that Volvo.

I've been waiting for a post from you! I love the pic of you both out on your first walk! Do you and Katie live close enough to walk to each others houses?

BTW, we've had something for you guys since we heard little Wes was born, I think I'll drop it in the mail as I don't want him to outgrow it before he gets it. ;) Or maybe I could drop it off at the Gough's for you?

glad you guys are adjusting-- i feel like we are re-adjusting everyday! loved the pics of the two boys together. we'll have to make sure to keep taking side by side shots as they get bigger.

hope to see you guys again soon.

Seriously, Wes has a great face. Can't wait to meet him.

I think you should keep an eye on Jeff. He appears to be choking Wesley in every shot they have together. Very suspicious. ;)

I've been checking to see when you would post! Adorable pictures too. I really love the ones of Wes in the striped outfit that was Thad's; it just melts my heart. I can't wait to see that boy! I'm counting down the days until it's our turn to bring you guys dinner- hope you like my lasagna!!
HUGS!

What a cutie! I was so excited to see more pics of little Wes. How much does he weigh now? Look at those skinny little legs!
I'm so impressed that you're already taking him on walks- I remember with leta we had to weight so long until she was a certain weight (like 6 lbs I think). I'm glad you can still get out & enjoy the weather with Wes!
Let me know if you need anything!

I think the picture that you don't think looks like Wes, really really looks like Jeff when he was little.

In picture of Wes and Isaiah- I think Wes looks EXACTLY like little Jeff that we have on our fridge :-)

thanks for posting Jenny...I was all out of sorts because I'm so used to your regular posts. But you have the perfect reason not to post...you're living the best blog entry ever!!! So feel free to live more and post less...but then post more later ; ) I can't wait to come up. I hope I don't miss his first steps.

What awesome picts Jenny- and last night when I read your comment you left me, I was thinking about how we are in such different stages of mommyhood and how each one is truly a blessing. One day you will look at Wes like I now look at Brandon (um, he's only 5 1/2!)...it's funny cause when the babies are so new it seems like time drags on (sleep deprivation...) and then goes by too quickly all at the same time. Well, this happens forever, not just when they are babies! :-) Anyways I think you should blow up the pict of you and Wes and hang it in his room...it's an amazingly maternal picture and took my breath away...hugs, Ang.

Oh, Jenny! He is so beautiful! And you look so happy, with your sweet new mama glow. I am so glad that you are all home now and are starting to adjust to life as a little family. And that picture of Wes with you and the aunties- seriously brought tears to my eyes-so sweet, all those adoring faces :)

P.S. I think I forgot to comment on your video post, but I loved it! It was so fun hearing your voice :)
