This past weekend marked not only Wes' 1/2 birthday (18 months already) but also his public dedication to the Lord in front of our family, friends and church community. Our Pastor Richard, who married us, also dedicated Wes on Sunday...what a blessing to share so many important milestones with this great man...and of course all the rest of the folks who were there to witness both ;) Wes was dedicated alongside cousin Amelia and friend Molly- amazing little humans- all three! My prayer is that each will feel the love of Christ through us, their parents, and will choose to live a life that will glorify Him. My strength and patience is tested more and more as Wes continues to grow and enters into a more "rebellious age" (I imagine it's only the beginning) so as I reflect upon his dedication and what that means both for him and our family I'm thankful that we did it now when perhaps I needed the reminder that he is God's and God has entrusted him into our watchful care.
After the dedication and church service (which was awesome- podcast it if you can) we celebrated with a delightful spring picnic.
A really superb day, one I won't easily forget...but I'll never say never (not only because of American Tale) because my memory has been horrible lately.
Have a great weekend- hope this weather gets better!
