Wasn't He Handsome?

My Uncle Fred discovered some photos of my Grandpa Penaranda that I've never seen before...in fact, I've only seen one photo of him that I can recall...and it's in a frame at my parents house. I always thought he looked like a movie star in that photo (sorry, I don't have a digital copy), but now after seeing these photos I'm convinced he WAS a movie star. Ok, not really...but take a look! I never had the privilege of meeting him (he died when my Dad was a small child) or my Grandma (she died when my brother was 2)...though I do love imagining what they were like. And now that I have a child of my own, I really wonder what characteristics he will have that are from the Penaranda side.

He's the one on the left.

Upper right, and I don't condone smoking...but doesn't he look so cool?

And here's an adorable photo of my Dad as a boy...I just want to kiss his sweet checks and swat his little bottom..run along now Joey ;) He is so Alfalfa from the Little Rascals in this photo. And his little mouth reminds me of Wesley.

these are so great. the last time i was at my grandparents house (at Christmas) we went through album after album of family photos- it's amazing to see your grandparents as little babies. i swear, everyone from that era looked like movie stars (maybe something to do with the black and white photography). i definitely detect some Penaranda in little Wesley!

Those are awesome pics! People were much classier back then. It would be cute if you took some B&W photos of Wes styled after your dad's baby pics. Then you could really see the resemblance.

Note the jewelry that Joe had on around his neck. Most French babies are given gold necklaces with their name and birthdate inscribed on them.

Tom and I have actually remarked to one another how much we think Wes looks like your dad :) I just love old timey photos....everyone always looks so suave and classy.
