Hip hip hooray (animated)

Is that the doctor on the phone?

What's the verdict?

No brace?!

Hip hip...

Hooray!

(see below for a higher quality image and an explanation)

Hip hip hooray!

The doctor reviewed Wesley's ultrasound today. His hips look great and he won't have to wear a brace (they check breech babies for this).

The Boy Can Suck

Wesley was hungry...but what he didn't realize is that Daddy's bicep doesn't have any milk!

I think Jeff has more sympathy for me now...look at that hicky!

Ding Dong the Rat is Dead!

Several weeks ago, on one of my many routine loads of laundry, I discovered that Wesley wasn't the only little critter pooping and peeing in our house. I was horrified to discover that some sort of rodent had taken up residency in our basement (cross our fingers he didn't travel anywhere else in the house).

Well, several traps later...with the help of peanut butter bait (don't believe them when they say it's a baitless trap- it didn't work)- the RAT is dead. Jane and I had to follow the blood trail to find him back behind the drawer of our dryer. My skin is crawling at the thought of it!

I thought we might have a "Lady and The Tramp" moment on our hands...but we don't have a dog!

I tried to select the least graphic photo...sorry if this is still too much for some of you. But if it's not enough...please let me know and I'd be happy to show you some from our personal collection ;)

can't stop talking about Wes...

I just wanted to document that Jeff and I have taken to singing a little song to Wes...and here it goes...

Hey little Wesley mon
Wesley me banana
Wesley come and
Me want to go home

We've also been (or maybe it's just me) cheering...

Poop it out
Poop it out
WAY out

Does having a baby make you go crazy?

Two Month Check Up

Last Thursday Wes had his 2 month appt. Here are his stats:

Height: 22 inches (10-25th %)
Weight: 9lb 7oz (10th %) *last month they put him on the wrong chart...he wasn't in the 50th %, it was the 5th ;) I knew something seemed crazy!
Head: 38 cm (10th %)

I adore this little boy...especially the way his toes make cute little balls on the underside. Don't you just want to eat this foot?

Doula Juana

Yesterday we had to say farewell to Jane...it was a sad day. Mommy cried and Wesley pooped his pants :(

Jane was here for two short weeks and we can't wait for her to come back again in August (maybe sooner?) Wes, Jeff, and I are so lucky to have a dear, loving, encouraging, loyal friend.

Jane- come back! (btw, I just watched Heart & Souls and thought of you)

This trip was full of a lot of fun and a couple of firsts- first time at the Locks and first time at the Space Needle for both Wesley AND Jane. We also enjoyed a few walks around Ballard, The Bachelor at Katie's, and many movie nights courtesy of Netflix on the XBox (favorites: Like Father Like Son & Beastmaster ;)).

What were some of your favorite memories with Wes?

We miss you terribly.

I just realized we didn't do face masks OR get a picture of the two of us....next time!

Afraid to Leave the House

With the flu running rampant in our family (and beyond) we're a little worried about leaving the house...

We're still healthy, a little sleep deprived, and experiencing some slight cold symptoms and a little one who hasn't pooped in a couple of days (scratch that, as I typed this I think I heard little Wes fill his pants- what relief); but overall doing great!

We feel horrible for our loved ones who have come down with what seems like the most contagious flu I've ever heard of. So, we hope you understand if we send our well wishes from afar- we just can't risk getting sick this year.

*And on a health risk note: I was reading up about the Norovirus on the CDC website and it seems like you could be contagious for as long as two weeks..so be careful!*

Happy New Year!

And the winner is....

Hopefully I can email you through your blogger profile ;) Congratulations and thanks for reading my blog!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year's Eve- we decided to stay at home. Mark, Katie, and Isaiah came over and we even saw the fireworks from the Space Needle from our upstairs window.
