William Anthony!

William Anthony was born today to Scott and Brianne! He's a perfect, sweet little baby boy with big hands & feet, very soft skin, and quite an expressive cry...

Will and Mom...

Wesley's first peak...

...hanging out already!

Will already has baby alligator tears (proud Dad can be seen through my glasses).

Congratulations Scott and Bri! We can't wait to have our sons grow up together. Hopefully they'll get a chance to work together like Scott and Jeff, Scott and Jeff's dads, and Scott and Jeff's grandfathers (3 generations)! But more important than that, I'm sure they'll be lifelong friends like their fathers.

And there was another very special baby born today (finally a girl!). Congratulations to Pete and Shauna! We can't wait to meet her soon!

While I'm at it...

This boy is too funny not to share...

Really?

I kind of can't believe all the snow we've gotten this season...I mean it's Feb. 26th for crying out loud! This reminds me that two years ago it snowed on our wedding week...it freaked me out then too!

At least it's not going to spoil the Mommy Movie playdate I have planned today...He's Just Not That Into You...should be fun!

Hope you stay warm today, perhaps stay cozied up with a movie?

Where do they shop?

Repair men.

One came over today to fix the fridge, yes our fridge was on the fritz...it wouldn't stay cold, which is a problem when you need cold food and fresh breast milk.

The good news is...he fixed the fridge. The bad news...he paraded his "plumbers butt" all around the kitchen. Where do these guys shop? I like to think they do a mirror check in the dressing room. "yep, there's the crack- I'll take 'em!"

I'm crossing my fingers it's a permanent fix.

How's he sleeping?

This is a question I get a lot...and I've also realized then when I ask Moms who are passed the infant stage they often tell me they don't remember and they never wrote it down. So, I'm killing two birds with one stone!

Wes has definitely settled into a nighttime routine and it's been wonderful anticipating the amount of sleep we can "count" on.

-I feed him one last time before putting him to bed anywhere between 8:30-9:30
-I go to sleep around 11:00
-Jeff feeds him between 12:30-1:30 and then he goes to bed
-Wes will usually sleep until 4:00-5:00 before he gets a bit fussy
-I then put his binkie in and try to get him to last until at least 6:00 before getting out of bed (he sleeps in a moses basket beside our bed)
-He can usually make it to 6:00 "assisted" and has even fallen back to sleep until 6:40 a handful of times
-I feed him and he's back in bed by 7:00 and so am I!
-He typically can sleep "unassisted" until 8:30, but I "assist" him (thank you binkie) until about 9:30
-At that point I pull the little rascal into bed and Jeff and I enjoy his happy demeanor- 30 minutes of talking and smiling- one of my favorite moments of the day
-By 10:00 we're all up and at 'em!

Pretty soon we're going to see if he can sleep until 4:00ish after his 9:30 feeding and then perhaps he'll go one more 4 hour chunk and we can start the day around 8:00 (10:00 is a little ridiculous, but it's certainly working for us for the time being!)

14 Weeks of Motherhood

Well, it's been 14 weeks of motherhood today and I can honestly say nothing could have prepared me for this....it's life changing (talk about an overhaul) to say the least.

I'm constantly overjoyed and often overwhelmed by this responsibility God has granted me in caring for our amazing little boy nearly 24-7 (don't worry, someone is always taking care of him, but a girl has to get a break every once in awhile). I'm also fully aware of how truly blessed Jeff and I are to have such dear family and friends who have been more than generous with their time and energy helping us raise our son- thank you! It does take a village and I feel confident Wesley will know he is loved by many.

To all those ladies who have yet to have their first born...I'd say savor the time you have with your husband, but realistically you can't even begin to know how to do that until all of your attention seems to be focused on your small child and all you seem to talk about are dirty diapers, sleeping habits, and how much/often they eat. BUT I will say that now that we're 14 weeks in we're finally over the hump! I feel like a normal human being again (despite the plugged ducts, lingering baby weight and psoriasis I was recently diagnosed with). Wes has a more consistent sleeping schedule and Jeff and I are able to spend more quality time together. It also doesn't hurt that I'm now showering on a regular basis. There is hope!

I sure do love our little family.

(As I type this Jeff is upstairs with Wes and the baby monitor is still on...he's singing "the itsy bitsy spider" and asking Wes, in a sing-song voice, if he likes it and then answers for him, "yeah, that's fun!"- a baby does wonderful things to Daddys)

Play Date

This past week Wes had a play date....and there was a girl! Now Wes, be careful, no fighting with Isaiah over her...from the looks of it Isaiah could kick your butt (for now) ;)!

Alison, a Mom from our birthing class, came over with her daughter, Lexi. And of course Katie and Isaiah were there too. It was so adorable to see all three of them fit in the big orange chair.

It's also crazy to me that Wes is the oldest when he should have been the youngest, my precious little big boy.

Can you believe how big they've gotten since this post?

Looks like neither Wes nor Isaiah really know what to do with a girl...and let's keep it that way for at least another 20-something years...

Happy Valentine's Day!

...to my two favorite boys (thanks Jane for this Valentine outfit)!

Too Cool (and a cold)

Doesn't it look like he's giving the peace sign? What a cutie with his popped collar...he looks like such a big boy in this sweet polo from Mandy- thanks!

Hope everyone had a good week...we've been laying low (sort of) because Wes has his first cold...a nasty little cough that the doctor said isn't too much to worry about and needs to work itself out on its own.

I'm just thankful it's at 12 weeks and not 6, but he's still not quite over it and has been vomiting once a day the past two days to "clear out" his system. I have seen vast improvement today (we haven't had to give him Tylenol since 10:00 last night) and am looking forward to next week when he's cough-free and back to his sweet little happy self. Please keep him in your prayers if you happen to think of him.

I'm also happy to report that Wes was 10lb 12oz at the docs on Monday so that means he should be 11lbs by the weekend!

The Many Faces of Wesley

We can't get enough of this "smiley boy" (that's what I'm always calling him)!

Towards the end I just thought he was so much cuter with his shirt off ;)

Quite a Weekend

We celebrated two birthdays this weekend...the first was the arrival of Miles Timothy our newest nephew- such a precious little boy who made his entrance with a quickness and came exactly 11 weeks after his cousin Wes. We can't wait for these little ones to catch up to the "big" boys and see what kind of personalities they will have. I feel so blessed to be apart of this family, which seems to be growing by the minute!

Here's the family Wednesday night...just days before the newest member would be here.

Sweet Baby Boy

Buds already...can you believe how big Wesley looks? It's amazing how fast it goes...

Visiting with our old pals at the Special Care Nursery...we miss the hospital!

The second birthday party was for my incredible husband. These have been an intense couple of years and I'm just so proud of all he has accomplished and how he's managed, in spite of the weight of it all, to be so loving and generous to everyone around him.

Jeff- I am honored to be sharing this life with you and to have had OUR son- we both love you very much! May this year be full of blessings!

Baby Jeff- what a cutie!
