My Latest Obsession

I've taken to making two or three of these a day...it's been fun!

A HUGE thank you to my sister-in-law, Rebekah, for gifting me with yarn, a hook, a book, and a killer bag to stash my stuff. I have LOVED relearning this childhood skill.

As you can see, I truly was inspired and I'm so excited for the finished project which I'm going to KEEP! 10 squares down, 67 to go...

I feel confident I could teach this now...so grab a hook (size: I) and some yarn (Vanna White)...and join me.

Are you kidding me?!?!?!

These are amazing- how did you get so many talents balled up into that head of yours? I want to sign up for a lesson :0)

These are SO great! What book do you recommend for learning how? I'd love to make myself something too! :)

thanks guys!

brianne- yes, you can sign up for a lesson ;) I'm thinking about hosting a crochet party in March...but you can always come over earlier if we can get the boys to nap at the same time.

casey- i have the happy hooker book which i haven't really used but heard it's great for beginners...but since i already knew how to crochet the book Rebekah gave me was perfect (for granny squares only): 200 Crochet Blocks by Jan Eaton.

good luck!

They really are pretty and uniform size squares. You're extremely talented. I'm hoping you have the urge to make the monkey blanket next; it would be a great gift for newborns and little ones. I think Wes would love it.

How are you liking the Vanna WHite yarn? Does it feel scratchy or soft when it's knit up? I like the price point, but I usually only buy yarn with natural fibers, so I've hesitated until now.

These are beautiful, Jenny! This is exactly the reason why I begged my neighbor to teach me to crochet a couple of weeks ago! I am still learning the basic stitches, but my goal is to learn how to do granny squares :) I would totally take you up on a lesson if we lived closer!
